尽管interest一词在普通英语中常表示“兴趣”，但在法律英语中，interest通常具有下列含义：

1. 利率，利息

The bank balance is the cash at bank held ininterest bearing accounts with Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and Bank of China Limited, affiliate companies of the Trustee.

银行结余为存于中国银行(香港)有限公司及中国银行股份有限公司（受托人的联属公司）的计息账户内的现金存款。

If the Buyer fails to pay any amount when due, the Buyer shall be liable to pay to the Seller overdue interest on such unpaid amount from the due date until the actual date of payment at the rate of five percent per annum. Such overdue interest shall be paid upon demand

of the Seller.

若买方未能按期支付到期款项，则买方应支付卖方从到期之日起算至实际支付之日止的年利率为5%的利息。一经卖方提出，买方应支付该过期利息。（注：interest 在国际支付业务中，表示一方由于未能支付到期应付的款项而向另一方支付的利息。）

2. 权益，利益

For the purpose of this paragraph there shall be disregarded any shares held by a Director or his associates as bare or custodian trustee and in which he or any of them has no beneficialinterest, any shares comprised in a trust in which theinterest of the Director or his associate(s) is/are in reversion or remainder if and so long as some other person is entitled to receive the income thereof, and any shares comprised in an authorised unit trust scheme in which the Director or his associate(s) is/areinterested only as a unit holder and any shares which carry no voting right at general meetings and very restrictive dividend and return of capital right.

就本段而言，将不计算董事或其联系人士作为受托人或受托管人所持有而该董事或其任何联系人士并无实益之任何股份、在若干其他人士有权取得上述收入之情况下董事或其联系人士须归还或剩余权益之信托所涉及之任何股份、董事或其联系人士仅以独立持有人身份拥有权益之法定单位信托计划所涉及之任何股份、以及在股东大会上并无投票权及所获取相当有限之股息及退回之股本权利之任何股份。

3. 被保险的货物（保险业务）

The premium rates vary with differed interests insured and with different destinations ,routes and carrying periods of insurance

保险费率随保险货物的不同而变化，也随目的地、航线和保险责任有效期的不同而变化。

4. 所需要的产品或业务（经常出现在要约文本中）

The articles of our immediate interest are your CHUNHUI Brand Agricultural Washing Machines.

我们当前需要的商品是你方的春晖牌农用洗衣机。
